Become a Morning Person in the Chaos: 5 tips

Are you wanting to become a morning person?

I will be 100 percent honest with you I would rather sleep in most days but since I have started getting up at 4:45 every morning I really enjoy it. If you have kids then you know that you get almost no you time. Getting up early has given me much needed quiet time before the hustle and bustle of the day.

There are so many benefits to becoming a morning person so I am going to share all the tips and tricks on how to become a morning person.

Must DO’s:

  1. Determine why you want to be a morning person.
  2. Create a routine.
  3. Get to bed earlier.
  4. Be consistent.
  5. Give yourself an adjustment period.

Determine why you want to be a morning person

Whether you are wanting to become a morning person to get up before the kids are up or you are wanting to incoporate working out in the morning, you need to have your why so that when the alarm goes off you dont roll back over and say “Ill try again tomorrow”

Create a Routine

Having a set routine will really help in the long run. Know what you are doing as soon as you get out of the bed will help you get up and get moving.

Get to bed Earlier

In order to be a morning person, it starts the night before. You should know by now how much sleep you need every night, if you don’t aim for 7-8 hours.

If you have kids then have them help you with things around the house so that you are not left with everything on your own and end up staying up later than you wanted to. If you have younger kids having them on a consistent routine helps wonders. I know at 7pm my 2 youngest are walking to their rooms to go to bed. My oldest is 6 so part of her evening routine is helping me do things around the house. As the other 2 get older they will help do things around the house also. My husband also helps. It takes team work.

Be Consistent

Being consistent is the main factor that will help you become a morning person. As I mentioned earlier I have not always been a morning person but the more that I followed a routine and stayed consistent the more I love it. Each morning is the same for me because I have followed my routine for a while. Soon, you will be waking up without your alarm clock and yes that means that you will be up early on the days that you wanted to sleep in.

Give yourself an adjustment period

Creating your plan to become a morning person is the easy step, the hard step is actually doing it. If you notice that you are more tired than normal durning the day then you probably are not getting enough sleep. Start slowly, but stay consistent.

What My Mornings Look Like

At 4:45 am every morning, my coffee pot starts making my coffee for me. I get out of the bed and the first thing that I do is drink water. Then ill go have my coffee and read an inspirational book.

At 5:30 am is whenever I get my 30 minute walk in.

6:00 am: Get ready for the day. Getting ready really helps me to feel better so I make it a daily habit to get ready.

6:30 am make breakfast, get a load of laundry started, get the kids up.

THE TRUTH

You can continue to read about morning routines and how to be a morning person but the truth is YOU have to make the decision that you really want to become a morning person and stick with it. The first few weeks you will probably want to throw it in the basket, but stick with it and you WILL become a morning person.
