From Chaos to Productivity in the Morning

Do you wake up and feel like there is complete Chaos in the morning? Lets go from Chaos to Productivity in the morning. Here is my morning routine that helps me tackle everything on my to do list before noon.

Let me start off by saying I am not a morning a person. I would rather stay under the covers when my alarm starts going off at 5am but I know that I need to take care of myself before I can take care of anyone else.

Preventing the chaos starts the evening before. Every evening I will get my coffee pot ready for the next day. If you are a coffee drinker in the morning then my advice to help you get up and get going is to get a coffee maker that has a programmer and will start brewing your coffee before you are even out of the bed. Here is my morning routine:
1. Wake up at 5am
2. Have a glass of water & coffee
3. Read a inspirational book
4. Walk 1 mile
5. Breakfast
6. Pack Lunches
7. Get dressed for the day


Wake up at 5am

I am not a morning person and I will hit snooze every chance that I get but I know that if I do that my entire morning will be chaos, so get up before anyone else and have some you time before the rest of the house wakes up.

Have a glass of water & coffee

I need a few minutes to wake up and get going so this is when I will have my water and coffee. I have my coffee making before I ever even get out of the bed. It has been a game changer for actually being able to get up because I know I am fixing to get my coffee.

Read an inspirational book

I read some type of inspiration book every morning to inspire me first thing in the morning. I don’t scroll social media. I am actually not a huge fan of social media because it’s just so consuming and

Walk 1 mile

My goal is to walk 10,000 steps a day so every morning I walk 1 mile. Invest in a walking pad like this one to help you even if its raining. That helps me get started on my goal. It also helps me focus on the remainder of tasks that I have for that day because I get up and get moving.

Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, don’t skip it. Just because you feel like you are not hungry in the morning, you don’t need to skip breakfast. It will help keep you statisfied thoughtout the day.

Pack Lunches

Before the kids are even up, I like to have lunches made and ready to do. I will ask them the night before to tell me what they want so that I can fix it while my breakfast is cooking.

Get dressed for the day

To feel better, get dressed. You don’t have to dress all the way up but you need something that makes you look more put together and this is when you do it. Do it before the kids even get up for the day. So that you have gotten in a little excerise and now you are ready to focus on others. That completes my morning routine

Time to start the rest of the day

Regardless if you have pure chaos for the morning or productivity, when you get up and focus on yourself before anyone else you will feel much more accomplished.
